What the beads do besides look good

A wooden bead sits where two cords pass through one hole, and that single point locks the knot above it so the sling keeps its shape once a full pot goes in. The rest is rhythm. Three beads down an arm read as pattern; one bead at the gathering knot reads as a full stop. The beaded cotton plant hanger takes the quieter route and lets the plant hold the attention. Cord thickness across the store is quoted in mm, from 1 mm through 5 mm, and a bead only threads cleanly when its bore is wide enough for doubled cord.

Pot size, ceiling hooks, and corners

Measure the rim of the pot you already own before choosing anything. A 6-inch nursery pot and an 8-inch glazed one behave very differently in the same cradle, and the basket opening plus the total drop are listed in inches on each page. The Triple and Multi Pot styles carry several small pots on one line, which suits a narrow window better than one heavy trailing plant. Not every room offers a ceiling joist, and the beaded corner hanger solves that by working off a corner instead. When ceiling height is the real constraint, the same pieces are grouped by drop length rather than by trim.

Keeping undyed cotton pale

Water the plant at the sink, not in the hanger. Cotton wicks, and a slow drip leaves a ring that no amount of spot-cleaning removes. Brush the cords with something soft and keep them off a south-facing pane, where pale cotton yellows within a season.
