Sized around a four-inch pot

Seven pieces, all short. A mini hanger is judged by the pot it takes rather than by its drop: a 4-inch nursery pot, a squat ceramic, a propagation jar with a cutting in it. That scale opens up places a full-length design cannot go — the end of a bookshelf, a bracket above the sink, a hook in a window reveal, the side panel of a cabinet. The mini knotted hanger stops high enough that nobody walks into it, which is the usual complaint about hanging anything in a hallway or over a desk.

Flat on the wall or swinging free

Some designs press against a vertical surface instead of hanging clear. The small wall plant hanger takes one nail or a stud-mounted hook and holds the pot close in, using a narrow band of wall that a swinging piece would waste. Where drilling is off the table, a rated adhesive hook usually copes at this weight, though a soaked pot outweighs the dry one you hung, and that gap is where people come unstuck. Check the inch figures on the page against the spot you have in mind.

Fine cord, visible knots

Small work exposes the knotting. Between 1 mm and 3 mm the square-knot sinnets stay readable as pattern rather than blurring into bulk, and heavier cord would simply swallow a little pot. Black cord sharpens the same silhouette. A soft brush lifts dust; a comb through the tails keeps them tidy. Taking these knots to full length, with beads and a deep tail, the seventies-style plant hangers go the other way.
