A great project that you would likely have a lot of fun doing is to get those artistic juices flowing, and macramé is the perfect way to do this. You may be a little concerned about this idea, as you likely do not have a lot of knowledge about macramé. However, that is okay. You can still have a lot of fun and build some really cool stuff, and here are a few projects that are perfect for the beginner.

A Macrame Keychain

Making macramé knots is one of the most essential parts of creating any macramé project. It is one of the simplest things to learn but can be used in a multitude of projects that are a lot of fun to make and will look fantastic.
There are five basic macramé knots, which include:

• Lark’s Head
• Double-Half Hitch

• Berry
• Gathering

Those may sound a little complicated, but they are not. There are instructional guides you can find online which you will show you exactly how to make each one of these knots. From there, you can make some really cool projects, including making a keychain.

A keychain is a perfect, functional thing to make. Why this is such a great place to start is that it requires a minimal amount of supplies and time to be able to make. However, you will have a great looking keychain to show off to others. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to learn some basic features that will enable you to make more sophisticated projects later. All you basically need is a swivel key holder, 3 mm single-strand cord, and six 5mm hole beads, most of these you can find at our do-it-yourself store. With that, you can follow the simple instructions provided online to make yourself an awesome keychain you can use for yourself or give as a gift.
